Valchromat is not MDF. It is an evolution of the MDF.
It is a wood fiber panel colored throughout, where fibers are colored individually, impregnated with organic dyes and bonded together by a special resin which gives Valchromat unique physic and mechanical features.
What is Valchromat used for?
Valchromat is used by the leading designers and manufacturers in the furniture industry. Its adaptability means it is used for different furniture projects from table tops, kitchens, Bathrooms, shelving, wall cladding and other things.
Is Valchromat stronger than MDF?
Valchromat has a high bending resistance due to the manufacturing and compositioning process which consists of using special resins to bond the fibres together which makes it 30% stronger that MDF.
Is Valchromat available in the US?
Valchromat® can be finished with a variety of different products, including oil, wax, water based polyurethane, lacquers, varnish and paint. Valchromat® is available in 8mm and 19mm in the USA.
Can you bend Valchromat?
It does not contain the formaldehyde that regular MDF wood does, and instead uses non toxic bonding resin which makes it suitable for making children’s toys. Valchromat also has a high bending resistance to standard MDF is moisture resistant and fire retardant.
What is the difference between MDF and HDF wood?
While neither version does well around water, HDF is more water-resistant than MDF, and its density does also make it stronger. MDF, on the other hand, is much more suitable for furniture and decorative pieces. It’s highly affordable, and has a smooth surface that lends itself well to being painted.
What is black MDF?
Black MDF panels are medium-density fiberboard panels that are coloured all the way through, and are much like colored MDF. All the sides are the same so you don’t need to add a border. There may be some small imperfections (areas that are coloured to a greater or lesser extent).
What Colours does MDF come in?
Coloured MDF – 10 colours: Black, Blue, Chocolate Brown, Dark Grey, Light Grey, Khaki, Mint Green, Orange, Red, Violet, Yellow.
