What is a golden gig car?
Golden Gigs
If you’re taking a trip under an hour, check the app for a ‘Golden Gig,’ marked with a gold symbol on the app. These special Gigs have a reduced rate.
Can you pause a gig car?
You can make interim stops, called a Stopover, during your trip at any time without ending your Rental Period and you may park in any legal parking space inside or outside the HomeZone.
Can you leave a Gig car anywhere?
You can go anywhere in the U.S., for as short or long a trip as you want, but your Gig must begin and end the trip in its original HomeZone. Important things to note: Park for free in Gig-designated spots within the HomeZone. Check here for parking guidelines.
Are all gig cars Electric?
Our all-electric cars can’t wait for you to show them around town, from dinner in Midtown to a show at the arena. Take affordable trips with free parking, charging, and insurance, with an itty-bitty carbon footprint!
Are gig cars insured?
We provide Third Party Liability Insurance while you are using the GIG Car Share services.
Do gig cars have phone chargers?
Look for a text and email from Gig at the beginning of your Electric Gig trip. Click the link to access the web app and find charging stations near you. Once you’re at the station, pull up to an available charger.
Are dogs allowed in Gig cars?
Pets are fine if they stay in a carrier (with the exception of service animals). Feel free to eat and drink in the Gig, just please clean up after you hit the drive-through. No forms of smoking are allowed in the car, this includes e-cigarettes, vape pens, and cannabis.
How does gig Car Share make money?
Members are charged by the minute, hour or day. Fuel and insurance are included in the price of each trip. Gig also pays for parking within their area of service. The company partners with cities to pay for parking, which is included in each reservation.
How do you end a gig trip?
End Your Trip
Be sure your Gig is tidy and has enough fuel for the next member. If you need to refuel we’ll reimburse you, just snap a pic of the receipt and submit it at Just hit END YOUR RESERVATION on the app, or tap your Gig Card on the windshield reader until it turns green. That’s it.

When should you clock in to a gig Instawork?
Aim to reach 10-15 mins before the gig start time so that you have enough time to find parking and meet the supervisor. On-time arrivals are monitored so that you can get paid for the whole time.
