How to Install Vinyl Base Cove Molding with Adhesive
Clean the base of the wall and any surrounding materials. Flatten the vinyl cove molding if it came in a roll or is otherwise bent. Lay out the molding against the wall and plan the installation. Cut or score and bend the vinyl molding to accommodate corners.
What is the purpose of cove base?
Cove base, that is a base w/a toe or lip at the bottom of the shape. This shape has primarily been used on hard surface floors. The toe helps cover up the perimeter of the installation as most tile is installed w/a small gap between the tile and the wall. These days, many designers use cove base with carpet as well.

Install the corner pieces with a nail gun and 2 1/2 inch nails at an angle. Once your corner pieces are up, nail up the cove moulding placing a nail on the top and bottom where you marked your studs. Sink them into the groove of the cove moulding so they are easily hidden.

Fold base at mark with face in. While base is still warm apply adhesive and press base into corner. Carefully push the toe of cove base against the wall to close the triangle (Figure 5).Properly roll base. Cool by placing a wet cloth against corner. Wipe dry.
