Games like Catchphrase and Taboo can be played 2 player (pretty much any trivia/clue-giving game) if you’re just playing for fun and not necessarily trying to keep score. You can just give the clues/questions to each other.

How do you play Taboo in class?

Brief Summary: The goal of the game is for students to get their classmates to guess particular vocabulary words or phrases (the “Target Word”) without using a set of closely-related words (the “Taboo Words”). Students take turns giving clues to their team or the rest of the class.

How long is the timer for taboo?

The answer to that question is that the timer lasts one minute once you flip it. Once you are ready to go, flip over the timer and immediately start going, once the 1 minute passes, all sand will reach the bottom and the time will be over.

Can you say rhymes with in taboo?

No sound effects or noises may be made, such as explosions or engine noises. However, feel free to break into song. You cannot say the Guess Word “sounds like” or “rhymes with” another word.

Can you say Blank in taboo?

Hand gestures, sound effects, and “sounds like” clues are prohibited, but legal clues can consist of suggestive sentences, song lyrics, fill-in-the-blanks phrases, or even one-word hints.

Can you use sentences in taboo?

You can’t use any of the taboo words or guess-words in sentences, but you can make your clues sentences. For the guess-word “school” you could say, “Children go here to learn.”

How do you play taboo for kids?

Your teammates shout out answers, trying to guess the word. If your teammates guess the word, place the card aside.
