Is Oakland ferry running?
Due to COVID-19, weekend ferry service between San Francisco Ferry Building and Oakland is currently suspended.
Is the ferry open in Vallejo?
The Vallejo BayLink Ferry has available service seven days a week, except for a few holidays, when no ferry service is available. It normally takes about 60 minutes or one hour for commute times on the ferry.
Is Alameda a man made island?
Alameda is indeed a manmade island. Up until 1902, the island of Alameda was actually the Alameda Peninsula. The peninsula was separated from the mainland by a canal to promote drainage of the northern estuaries to facilitate shipping. Landfill was used to extend the island into the bay.
Where does the ferry drop you off in SF?
Once you arrive in Sausalito, they will drop you off at Gabrielson Park. This is on the northern side of downtown. On the map below, you can see both the terminal drop off and downtown.
Is Sausalito worth visiting?
The Sausalito Boardwalk is a charming stretch of the city featuring several locally-owned shops and restaurants. There are also great views of the San Francisco city skyline in the distance. Though this area can get busy during the summer, it is well worth a visit.
Is the Larkspur ferry running on weekends?
Golden Gate Larkspur and Sausalito Ferry operate daily, with reduced service on weekends and specific holidays (Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Presidents’ Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, the Friday after Thanksgiving, and Christmas week).

How long is ferry from Vallejo to SF?
Travel time between Vallejo and San Francisco is approximately 60 minutes and approximately 10 minutes between Pier 41 and the SF Ferry Building.
Can you bring a bike on the Vallejo ferry?
Are bicycles allowed on board? Yes, each vessel has bike racks. Space may be limited on some departures, so be sure to arrive early. We also offer secure bike lockers at many terminals.
Can you park overnight at Vallejo ferry?
Overnight parking for Monthly parkers and Monthly Vallejo Ferry Commuters will be available for $4.00. Additionally, paid parking will be enforced by the Vallejo Police Department.
Why did the Alameda naval base close?
Nimitz. The base was closed in 1997 pursuant to Base Realignment and Closure action. Its runways were also closed and the airfield was not reutilized as a civilian airport.
What part of Alameda is landfill?
A corner of a dump site West of the former runways at Alameda Point (the former navy base) extends far enough into the San Francisco Bay that it is technically a part of the city and county of San Francisco. It’s basically like the Four Corners, except not really like that at all.
