Renting Points
Unlike with transfers, there is also no limit to the number of times that you can rent points, so you can rent multiple times in a year if needed. In addition, anyone can rent DVC points, even non-owners. This can be a great way for prospective DVC members to try before they buy.
How do I rent DVC points to someone else?
The easiest way to book a DVC rental is to book a reservation that was already confirmed. Confirmed reservations are DVC stays that have already been booked by a DVC Member, and for some reason that member can’t or won’t use the reservation. So they need someone else to take over the reservation for them.
How far in advance can you rent DVC points?
According to DVC rules, a DVC member can book a reservation at a DVC resort a maximum of 11 months in advance. If you rent points for an upcoming stay 7-11 months in advance, you may be subject to an additional $1 cost per point.
How many DVC points can you borrow?
Disney Vacation Club normally allows its owners to borrow 100% of their points from the next Use Year. Due to the backlog of member points occurring during the pandemic, borrowing is indefinitely capped at 50% of each contract in order to give priority to use of banked and current-year points.
Does DVC rentals include park tickets?
Are Park tickets included? No, but you will receive all the benefits that all guests staying at a Disney Resort receive, such as free transportation to and from the parks, Early Theme Park Entry (coming later in 2021), free parking etc.
Can I bank transferred DVC points?
You cannot transfer banked or borrowed points. Points transfers are not reversible. Transferred points will expire at the end of the transferor’s use year but can be banked by the transferee.
Can I rent from a DVC owner?
When DVC owners buy into their contract, they specify which resort will be their home resort. They are allowed to book at this resort up to 11 months in advance. That means you can also book up to 11 months in advance if that owner wants to rent their points.
Can you buy extra DVC points?
DVC members can purchase up to 24 additional points per year for one-time use. This can be a great option to those families looking to take an extra-long trip or upgrade a unit to accommodate a larger group. These additional points can be purchased at $15 per point, although fees are subject to change at any time.
Can I buy DVC one time use points online?
Members can purchase a maximum of 24 One-Time-Use points per year. The purchase can only be made by contacting DVC Member Services. However, once the points are in the owner’s account, they will be available for use in online reservations.
How do I add DVC to my Disney experience?
Just click the link, view the contract, and sign. The confirmation number for your room will be included on the contract. At this point, you can add the reservation number to My Disney Experience (if you are going to WDW). As Disneyland does not allow you to add your room reservation to their app.

Why can I only borrow 50% of my DVC points?
Currently, Members may only borrow up to 50% of their Vacation Points from the upcoming Use Year to book stays during the current Use Year. This rule went into effect in April 2020 due to availability issues during the ongoing pandemic situation.
Can I bank DVC points twice?
1. Yes, you can bank eligible points as many times as you want as long as you are in your banking window. 2. Once you’ve banked the points into your 2020 UY, go to your Oct reservation and select MODIFY.
Why can I only borrow half of my DVC points?
For those unfamiliar with this rule, due to anticipated availability issues, DVC limited point borrowing for all members back in April 2020. This change, which is still in effect, allows members to only borrow up to 50% of their future use year points per contract instead of the previous norm of 100%.

Do DVC points include tickets?
Currently, Disney Vacation Club Members do not receive complimentary tickets. There are however many benefits and perks for Members! These Membership extras are not part of your contract, and they can and do change over time.
What is the minimum amount of DVC points you can buy?
If buying through Disney directly, in order to become a Disney Vacation Club Member, you must purchase a minimum of 100 points. If purchasing through a reseller, there is no minimum purchase. Once the initial purchase is complete, you may “add on” points at either your home resort or at any other DVC resort.
