Extended reality (XR) is a term referring to all real-and-virtual combined environments and human-machine interactions generated by computer technology and wearables, where the ‘X’ represents a variable for any current or future spatial computing technologies.
What does XR today mean?
While XR (extended reality) technologies have been hyped since 2014, it’s only now in the midst of the 2020 coronavirus pandemic and global economic crisis that we are really seeing the true value of virtual, augmented and mixed realities as vital to the future of business success.
One of Apple’s new phones this fall is the iPhone XR. Apple finally revealed what the “R” means. Apparently, it’s an homage to “special” sports cars, according to Apple’s marketing chief, Phil Schiller.
What does the iPhone XR comes with?
From now on iPhone XR, iPhone 11 and iPhone SE (2020) units will only come with a USB-C to Lightning cable and no power adapter or EarPods in the box.
The iPhone XR, introduced on September 12, 2018, was sold alongside more expensive iPhones up until 2021, when it was discontinued by Apple.
