They are not properly used together. Read, as in ‘Do you read me”, refers to hearing a signal clearly enough to be understood. Copy probably originally referred to writing or typing a received message, but now has is essentially the same as ‘Read’.

Do you say copy or Roger?

For maritime VHF, “copy” does not mean the same as “roger” or “received”. It is used when communications between two other stations which includes information for one’s own station has been overheard and received satisfactorily.

What does it mean do you copy?

It means, “Do you hear me?” or, “Did you get that?”.
