Can you swim at Crystal Cove?

The sandy bottom slopes away to great swimming waters with usually mild surf. Access is via the Reef Point entrance. An alternate approach is to park at the lower lots at El Moro, pass through the tunnel to the beach, and then head north.

How do I park for free at Crystal Cove?
Many people park for free and hike or mountain bike into the park from Ridge Park Road. You can also hike into the park from neighboring Laguna Coast Wilderness Park, where the parking is $3. Or park on the street near Gate 12 for free!
Do you have to pay for parking at Crystal Cove?
Regular/Senior/Disabled: $5 per hour / $15 daily max. Parking Validation: Available to overnight guests of the Beach Cottages and Beachcomber diners who spend $15 or more. Can you bike at Crystal Cove?
Crystal Cove is used by mountain bikers inland and scuba and skin divers underwater. The 15-mile bicycle route described here includes most of the trails open for mountain biking inside the park.
Is Crystal Cove closed due to oil spill?
Crystal Cove State Park’s beaches and ocean are currently closed due to the oil spill, although the Historic District’s cottages and restaurants remain open.
Are dogs allowed on Crystal Cove beach?
Dogs are required to be held on a leash not exceeding six feet in length and can be walked on paved areas only. Dogs are not allowed on the beach or on any unpaved trail, including all back-country hiking trails. Service animals are allowed with certain restrictions.
