What is Scepter gas?
The Scepter 20L (5 Gallon) Gas Can is industry trusted for safe fuel storage. This original red plastic jerry can is made of HDPE and features an easy-to-pour, self-venting spout and child resistant saftey closure. Scepter original jerry cans are also available in sizes 5L, 10L and 25L.
Can you fill a car with a gas can?
Although gasoline can be dangerous due to its highly flammable nature, it is possible to safely fill a gas can and transport it. It just takes a little extra care to keep it away from sparks and heat so you can get the gasoline to a vehicle in need or to gas-powered machinery.
Why do jerry cans have 3 handles?
The three handles allowed easy handling by one or two people, or movement bucket brigade-style. The handle design also allows for two empty cans to be carried in each hand, utilizing the outer handle.

Yes, it’s perfectly legal to fill up a jerry can or petrol can as long as it meets some basic standards.
Can you fill gas cans at Costco?
Only licensed drivers should pump fuel. Costco gas station attendants are available to assist anyone who requires additional help in filling their tank.
Are plastic gas cans safe?
The PFCMA asserts that portable plastic gas cans are safe, and that most burn incidents have involved consumers pouring gasoline on a fire.
Will a gas can explode in the sun?
No, the gas bottle will not explode. When the sun is shining and the temperature rises, the pressure in the gas bottle obviously rises as well. Gas bottles have been designed in such a way that they are resistant to increasing pressure, but it is obviously better to keep the gas bottles out of the sun.
Does gas expire?
Regular gasoline has a shelf life of three to six months, while diesel can last up to a year before it begins to degrade. On the other hand, organic-based Ethanol can lose its combustibility in just one to three months due to oxidation and evaporation. Tracking the age of the fuel in your tank can be a challenge.
