How accurate is the BQ cutting service?
I used b&q once to cut some ply. Its a free of charge service in there and they will cut it to the exact measurements you require. Its a skill saw on a wall mounting and is locked in so pretty accurate. Just give them your full plans and they cut it all for you.
Does Wickes have cutting service?
Unfortunately, Wickes doesn’t provide wood cutting services. The retailer doesn’t mention this service on its website, nor does it advertise it in stores.
Does B&Q cut skirting to size?
Do B&Q Cut Skirting Board? Yes, they do cut it to size in-store if you require it. While we don’t cut boards to length, our skirting comes in a variety of lengths, but we recommend allowing 100mm on either end in case of scuffing in transit.
How do you cut wood?

Can you cut MDF with a knife?
You can score the laminated MDF with a knife, but you’ll need something more powerful to cut through completely. Keep a metal edge straight against the cutting line, and lightly pass the blade of the utility knife over the line, repeating until the laminate is fully marked.

The best way to cut hardboard is by using a circular saw or hand saw. They are specially made for cutting through wood. Other tools to best cut hardboard would be the Jigsaw, Table Saw, Track Saw, and Panel Saw. You can also use a Utility knife to cut hardboard if you’re on a budget and want to go DIY.
