Whirley Pop Directions
The basic Whirley Pop recipe is hard to mess up. The company suggests putting 1/2 cup of popcorn kernels and 1 to 3 tablespoons of oil in the pot.
What kind of oil do you use in a Whirley Pop?
Recommended oils are our Classic Blend Popping Oil (a blend of coconut and canola oils), peanut, corn, canola, or even Green Tea oil. Not recommended is butter or olive oil. These will smoke and burn even at medium temperatures, and you will be disappointed. After your oil goes in, add ½ cup of kernels.
How much oil do you put in a popcorn popper?
How much oil for the popcorn machine can be determined by using a ratio of 1 part oil per 3 parts popcorn kernel. Once the oil is heated, turn on the motor switch and add the popcorn kernels. Once the popping has completed, turn off the motor and heat switches.

Can you use Whirley Pop on glass top stove?
Whirley-Pops, which are stovetop popcorn poppers, are great for popping popcorn at home on your stove. These are safe to use on our glass top stove, but shaking should also be avoided. Most Whirley-Pops have a handle for stirring popcorn and preventing burning.

I like to use ghee rather than oil. I like buttered popcorn, so rather than buttering already oiled popcorn, I use about a tablespoon of ghee and about a half cup of kernals.
Can Whirley Pop go in dishwasher?
We do not recommend putting the popper in the dishwasher, as the aluminum is not dishwasher safe. Always hand wash both the popper and the lid using warm soapy water and a grease-cutting dish soap.
