Is Rid-X harmful?
According to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and other relevant state authorities, additives like Rid-X have detrimental and potentially hazardous impacts on the treatment process. The reason for this is because these additives result in breaking down solid waste further than is required.
Does Ridex dissolve toilet paper?
Each box and bottle of RID-X® contains the following ingredients scientifically proven to break down household waste: Cellulase breaks down toilet paper, vegetable matter and some foods. Lipase breaks down fats, oils and grease.
Can you use Rid-X in regular toilet?
Rid-X has a septic tank treatment product that can be mixed with warm water and poured into the sink or all toilets. The enzyme is safe for pipes and fittings and breaks down the oil, solids, and debris within the plumbing drain pipes, safely and economically.
Does Ridex dissolve hair?
Rid-X does NOT clear up existing clogs.
It is used after a clog has been properly cleared, and as preventive tool to reduce the occurrence of clogs in the future. You will still need to remember to remove the hair that gets caught in drains, and remove any foreign objects that get into the pipes.
Can you use Drano and Ridex together?

These products are really only a temporary fix, and if they do not break down the clog they actually get trapped in your line causing acid erosion to the line itself.
