What Size Frame for a 16×20 Print? You would need a 20″ x 24″ size frame.
If you purchased a 16 x 16″ art print, then I recommend a 20″ x 20″ frame with a mat.
The frame shouldn’t be any bigger than the standard as it will make the picture or print look odd. Conversely, the frame shouldn’t be the exact same size as the print, as it will make it difficult to fit into the frame, and likely have a negative impact on the overall presentation.
16×20 is a great choice for medium sized prints and photos, and considered a “large” frame that costs $175.

Frame Size: This is the actual size of the window of the frame (glass). So, an 11×14 frame will be appropriate for an 11×14 print, with no mat. With a mat, it might be perfect for an 8×10 or 8.5×11 print. Outside frame size: This is the actual size from edge to edge of the frame.
