Your app includes a Split Fare feature that allows you to divide a trip fare equally between your account and other riders’ accounts.

The Uber app will lose the “split fare” option in April as the company attempts to build a better system for sharing the cost of a ride. A replacement feature should roll out within the next few months, according to an Uber spokesperson.
How it works
Request a trip. Tap to open the app and request a trip as you normally would. Make the split. Once requested, swipe up from the bottom of your app, tap your selected payment method, then tap Split fare.Select your friends. Enter the names or phone numbers of other riders.
According to average ride costs, Uber is the cheaper company with the average trip costing $20 compared to the $27 you’d spend for an average Lyft trip.
During a ride, open the ride options menu. Tap “Split payment.” Pick up to 5 friends. When they accept, the fare will be split automatically. Tada!
Apple Pay may not work on split fares. If you use Apple Pay but want to split a fare, you may need to use another payment method. You can switch back to Apple Pay on your next trip. To know more about splitting a fare please visit this link;
Open the Uber app and enter your destination in the “Where to?” box. Tap the Uber Pool ride option at the bottom of your screen. Then tap Confirm Uber Pool. You can request Uber Pool for up to 2 people.
The Split Fare feature allows you to share the cost of the fare evenly between you and your friends. To do so, simply send a Split Fare invitation after making a request, then kick back, relax and forget the days of talking about who pays next!
To request an UberPool pickup either first select the UberPool vehicle option on the slider at the bottom of the app’s screen or select the UberX vehicle option then, toggle on the ‘Find an UberPool match’ option. Next, you will need to let us know how many people you are planning on traveling with.
Riders are able to add up to 2 extra stops between the pickup and dropoff locations from within the rider app. These additional stops will automatically be added to the route in your driver app.
Uber Comfort will cost about$18 – $19 for a 20-minute ride.
