What Is a Boa System?

The BOA closure system is a smart and patented system to pull on or out your safety shoes or boots. Classic laces are replaced by stainless steel wires, connected to a turning knob. This knob is used to tighten, loosen and snapping your laces into place.

Boa is great, especially if you only fish several times a year. If you’re whacking out 100 river days a year or more, if you hike a lot, travel a lot, and especially if you are hard on your gear, I’d suggest you take a pass on Boa. And that’s the honest truth after playing with this stuff for a few years.

In the rare event that your Boa Lace breaks (we experience less than 5% of our laces returned because of breakage) you can, as you would with a traditional lace, tie it in a knot.

The thing is to get the cable guides thingys stitched to the shoe, same with the like buckle thingy where the dial rest, if you can figure it out that pretty much you can put the thing to any shoe.

Traditional laces offer a natural, smooth flex and look dope. BOA is super convenient, feels a little stiffer and is easy to keep tight all day. If you want to adjust the upper and lower part of the boot separately, laces or a dual BOA system is the way to go. Hybrid-BOA is a great compromise between the two.

The number one reason to choose a Boa-equipped golf shoe is for an exact fit you can’t get anywhere else. With traditional laces, you can only tie them so many ways. Boa allows you to turn the dial and make micro-adjustments until the shoes fit exactly the way you need them to in order to perform at your peak.

Flow (boa): lasted about 70 days (three seasons) of hard, full-time riding.

Yes. The Boa system and laces are guaranteed for the lifetime of the boots by the manufacturer, The Boa System.

FOCUSED, CONFIDENT, FEARLESS. BOA inspires you to perform at your peak: focused, confident, and fearless to go further.

When removing BOA-type boots, first pull the dial forward to release the lock. Releasing the lock loosens the wire to some degree. Use both hands to grasp the front and back of the boot and open it up wide to further loosen the wire. Next, release the lock on the inner shoelaces.

They should be tight enough to hold your foot securely in position, especially around the heel and ankle. However, they should not be too tight that they can off the circulation to your feet and cause cramp.
