Qualifier Annotation

Qualifier Annotation

The @Qualifier annotation is used to resolve the autowiring conflict, when there are multiple beans of same type. The @Qualifier annotation can be used on any class annotated with @Component or on methods annotated with @Bean . This annotation can also be applied on constructor arguments or method parameters.

What is Qualifier annotation in Spring with example?

The @Qualifier annotation in Spring is used to differentiate a bean among the same type of bean objects. If we have more than one bean of the same type and want to wire only one of them then use the @Qualifier annotation along with @Autowired to specify which exact bean will be wired.

What is the difference between @autowired and @qualifier?

The difference are that @Autowired and @Qualifier are the spring annotation while @Resource is the standard java annotation (from JSR-250) . Besides , @Resource only supports for fields and setter injection while @Autowired supports fields , setter ,constructors and multi-argument methods injection.

What is @qualifier annotation in Java?

A qualifier is an annotation that you apply to a bean. A qualifier type is a Java annotation defined as @Target({METHOD, FIELD, PARAMETER, TYPE}) and @Retention(RUNTIME). For example, you could declare an @Informal qualifier type and apply it to another class that extends the Greeting class.

What is @component annotation in Spring boot?

@Component is an annotation that allows Spring to automatically detect our custom beans. In other words, without having to write any explicit code, Spring will: Scan our application for classes annotated with @Component. Instantiate them and inject any specified dependencies into them. Inject them wherever needed.

Where @autowired can be used?

The @Autowired annotation can be used to autowire bean on the setter method just like @Required annotation, constructor, a property or methods with arbitrary names and/or multiple arguments.

What is @transactional in Spring boot?

The @Transactional annotation is the metadata that specifies the semantics of the transactions on a method. We have two ways to rollback a transaction: declarative and programmatic. In the declarative approach, we annotate the methods with the @Transactional annotation.

What is the difference between @component and @bean?

@Component is a class level annotation whereas @Bean is a method level annotation and name of the method serves as the bean name. @Component need not to be used with the @Configuration annotation where as @Bean annotation has to be used within the class which is annotated with @Configuration.

What is the use of @SpringBootApplication?

Spring Boot @SpringBootApplication annotation is used to mark a configuration class that declares one or more @Bean methods and also triggers auto-configuration and component scanning. It’s same as declaring a class with @Configuration, @EnableAutoConfiguration and @ComponentScan annotations.

What is @inject in Spring boot?

Dependency Injection is a fundamental aspect of the Spring framework, through which the Spring container “injects” objects into other objects or “dependencies”. Simply put, this allows for loose coupling of components and moves the responsibility of managing components onto the container.

What is the difference between @primary and @qualifier?

@Qualifier takes precedence over @Primary annotation. @Primary is good when a particular implementation requires a higher preference over other beans. If exactly one ‘primary’ bean exists among the candidates, it will be the default auto-wired value.

What is @required annotation in Spring?

The @Required annotation applies to bean property setter methods and it indicates that the affected bean property must be populated in XML configuration file at configuration time. Otherwise, the container throws a BeanInitializationException exception.

What is Qualifier used for?

A qualifier is a word that limits or enhances another word’s meaning. Qualifiers affect the certainty and specificity of a statement. Overusing certain types of qualifiers (for example, very or really) can make a piece of writing sound lazily constructed.

What is the difference between Spring boot and Spring?

In the Spring framework, you have to build configurations manually. In Spring Boot there are default configurations that allow faster bootstrapping. Spring Framework requires a number of dependencies to create a web app. Spring Boot, on the other hand, can get an application working with just one dependency.

What is Springboot profile?

Spring Boot profiles

A profile is a set of configuration settings. Spring Boot allows to define profile specific property files in the form of application-{profile}. properties . It automatically loads the properties in an application.

What is @component used for?

@Component is a class-level annotation. It is used to denote a class as a Component. We can use @Component across the application to mark the beans as Spring’s managed components. A component is responsible for some operations.

What is MVC in Spring?

The Spring Web MVC framework provides Model-View-Controller (MVC) architecture and ready components that can be used to develop flexible and loosely coupled web applications.

What is @repository annotation in Spring boot?

@Repository Annotation is a specialization of @Component annotation which is used to indicate that the class provides the mechanism for storage, retrieval, update, delete and search operation on objects.
