Ballcock Assembly

Ballcock Assembly

Shut Off the Water and Flush the Toilet. Once you’ve flushed the toilet and emptied the tank, go underneath the tank and place a bucket under the retaining nut. Align the New Ballcock Valve. Attach Refill Tube. Attach Supply Line and Turn On Water. Adjust the Water Level in the Tank.

How do you replace the ballcock on a toilet cistern?

I’m going to show you how to do that now.
Turn off the isolation valve. Undo the tap connector. Remove the backnut. Refit your new toilet ball valve. Replace the fibre washer. Turn the isolation valve back on. Check for leaks.

Why is my toilet not shutting off?

Usually this is caused by one of the following problems: The water level in the tank may be at or above the top of the overflow pipe. The flapper or stopper ball that closes off the outlet at the bottom of the tank may be defective. The fill valve may need replacing.

Why is my toilet making a loud noise when I flush?

When your toilet flushes, it opens a valve to get more water and then suddenly shuts the valve off. The water that was rushing to your toilet is now cut off and the pressure causes your pipes to make a loud banging noise.

How do I stop my water tank from overflowing?

Routinely inspecting and cleaning your strainers and tank screens can help prevent this. It is also important to understand that fixed strainers will reduce the overflow of water through them, and this should be taken into consideration when your rainwater tank is installed.

Why is my water tank overflow dripping?

When an overflow pipe is dripping or running with water, one of the most common causes is a problem with a float valve. Float valves are found in toilet cisterns, cold water tanks and central heating feed and expansion tanks.

Why does my toilet fill valve keep running?

Adjust the Fill Height by Checking the Float

The water level in the tank is controlled by an adjustable float. A float that’s set too low produces a weak flush; if it’s set too high, water spills into the toilet overflow tube and the fill valve won’t shut off. The toilet keeps running.
