If you choose screws, you’ll need #12 or #14 screws. If you’re using bolts, use ¼” bolts. Screws should be long enough to get a grip in the stud, but not too long to puncture the outer skin of the trailer.

Can you pull sideways on e track?

Expert Reply: You are correct. As you can see in the attached pictures you want to keep the tie down in the E-Track # E19148 in the same direction. Perpendicular pull is okay as long as you mean straight out from the track.

Why is E-track called E-track?

The track gets its name from the fact that it is designed to be mounted horizontally along the inside of dry goods or a box truck, either on the walls or along the floor. As for the anchor points, these are engineered to be perpendicular to the top and bottom edges of the track.

What is the difference between a track and E-track?

The main difference is the size and shape of the track. E-track has a wider, more flat profile than L-track and secures on the outside edge of the track. L-track (also called airline track or logistic track) has a more compact appearance and attachment points are inside the track.

What height should my e-track be?

Expert Reply: There isn’t a specific height from the trailer floor recommended to mount the E-Track. My gut feeling is that if 3 feet is too low and 4 feet is too high then 3-1/2 feet might be perfect.
