A podenco can sometimes have a stubborn, independent streak, but the dog does respond well to positive reinforcement training. You may require a little more patience than with, say, an eager-to-please Labrador!

Podenco Canario will require about 1-2 hours of exercise each day. However, their puppies may require a bit longer. Although these dogs are often happy playing interactive games with the family out in the yard, a daily walk will still be necessary.
