For hiking to the top, definitely wear tennis shoes for the incline; however for the loop (which is mostly crushed rock), you almost need hiking boots (unless you don’t mind getting the rocks in your tennis shoes). How long is the Loop trail at Enchanted Rock?
The Loop Trail is four miles long and takes you around the perimeter of the dome. It’s an easy walk, so I recommend it if you have the time. Or, just go straight to the top! Take the Summit Trail, where you’ll climb a steep 425 feet in 0.6 miles.
