The black conductive jacket of CounterStrike® has been shown to be up to 400 times more resistant to the damaging effects of electrical energy than yellow CSST. It also lays straighter and pulls easier than yellow CSST.
Is Csst legal in California?
CSST may be used if it is part of a system listed by an approved agency, “ except that the local administrative authority may disapprove use of corrugated stainless steel tubing based on health, safety or performance considerations.”
How strong is CSST?
It is strong, but it’s also inflexible. If there is any movement in the building – settling, floods, earthquakes, a car hitting the corner of the house – the schedule 40 pipe can break or leak, leading to catastrophic consequences.
How far can you run CSST gas line?
Three- or six-foot long and accessible: The flexible connectors can’t go through walls, floors or ceilings, nor can they be concealed. The flexible connector length usually is limited to 3 feet except for gas ranges and clothes dryers. For these appliances, 6 feet generally is allowed.
Is CSST gas line safe?

Can I use Csst inside my house?

Can Csst be exposed?
The manufacturer says they are. Outdoor installations – Along side a structure – When installed along the outside of a structure (between the ground and a height of 6 ft.) in an exposed condition, the CSST shall be protected from mechanical damage inside a conduit or chase.
Can you run flexible gas line in attic?
The main concern for gas lines that are run in the attic is lightning strikes. If lightning strikes the gas line directly or near it, then it can create enough heat and energy to make a hole in the line. This can ignite the gas and cause an explosion. Or the gas can simply contribute to a developing fire in the attic.
