Can Dyson V8 fluffy go on carpet?

I have a shag area rug and I’ve found that you can pull the vacuum and it works fine, you just cannot do push/pull vacuumingthe walking backwards and pulling in one direction is not ideal, but works fine for my high pile area rug.
