What is Green Stuff made from?
Green stuff is epoxy based polymer clay. It is typically sold in a thick ribbon that has a yellow and a blue half. Like all epoxies green stuff uses a resin and resin hardener. The yellow clay is the resin and the blue half is the hardener.
How long does Green Stuff take to cure?
The working life of Green Stuff varies depending on how you store it, mix it, and work it, but the manufacturer PSI suggest a mixed ‘work life’ of between 1 1/2 to 2 hrs, with a cure time of around 4 to 5 hours reaching ‘ultimate hardness’ from 20 to 24 hours after mixing.
What can I use instead of Green Stuff?

Is Green Stuff toxic?

If you absolutely had to you could paint it before the putty has ‘hardened’, but I wouldn’t recommend it. As mentioned it’s probably best to wait for it to fully cure before priming or painting. Does the chemical reaction need to breath?

Curing Speed
The speed that green stuff cures at is affected by temperature. The warmer it is the faster it will cure. Cooling it down will slow curing time but the putty becomes stiffer the colder it gets, so it doesn’t balance out.
