Read Theory is a powerful educational tool that offers online reading activities for all ages and ability levels. Our custom web application adapts to students’ individual ability levels and presents them with thousands of skill building exercises that suit their needs.

Is ReadTheory any good?

I think ReadTheory is a great resource for any classroom. It cannot stand alone as the only reading instruction a student receives, but it is excellent independent practice. The passages are engaging and enjoyable. I cannot say enough about how much students enjoy checking their progress.

Is ReadTheory an app?

After just 20 minutes on ReadTheory, students generate enough data to populate their very own progress reports replete with insights about their unique reading abilities. This app requires an Internet connection and the developer can change the content of the app at any time.

Is read Theory free?

ReadTheory is an online reading comprehension assessment tool for students. It allows students to read narrative, informative, or informational literary passages and answer corresponding comprehension questions, while tracking student performance and reporting progress to teachers. It is free for all users.

How do you use ReadTheory?

Students navigate to ReadTheory.org in their internet browser.Students sign up.Students log in.Students go to the “My Teachers” page.Students enter YOUR email address -the one you use to log in to ReadTheory- in the space provided.Students click the “Send Invitation” button.

Is ReadTheory evidence based?

Can I add a co teacher to read Theory?

Students can add a co-teacher by going to the “My Teachers” page and inputting the teacher’s email. We don’t have a whole-class standards review (yet), so it does need to be reviewed one-by-one for now. Reach us at if you need us!

How do you get a read Theory login card?

Our system automatically sends teachers a copy of student usernames and passwords to their email address on file after they create new student accounts. Teachers will also receive new login cards whenever they reset a student’s password from within their teacher account.
