Aso Valve

Aso Valve

Automatic shut-off (ASO) valves are vital to any efficient reverse osmosis (RO) system. RO ASO valves save users thousands of gallons of water each year.

How do you test Aso valve?

The ASO operates if the membrane, flow restrictor, tank, and check valve are all performing properly. You can test this quickly by turning the tank valve off to see if the ASO stops water flow to the drain. This may tank a few minutes depending on membrane output.

Why is my RO system vibrating?

Reverse Osmosis and water filtration systems sometimes start making a pulsing noise or vibrating sound after changing the filters or performing other service work. It is called Pressure Differential Vibrations or Pulsing. This is caused by a change in the water pressure within the system.

What is RO valve?

The reverse osmosis valve is an important part of the entire RO system. It monitors the pressure in the tank and will shut off the water that enters the RO membrane when the tank pressure reaches roughly two-thirds of the pressure of the incoming water.

Why is my RO tank not filling with water?

Clogged filters are often the main culprit when an RO tank is filling slowly. Check out more details: Why You May Have Slow Flow Rates From Your RO System. Tank Pressure: The tank pressure should be at 5-7 psi when empty. If the tank bladder is ruptured or damaged, then you will need to replace the tank.

What is flow restrictor in RO?

Flow Restrictor for Home RO Systems

Designed for use in residential reverse osmosis systems to restrict the flow on the drain (reject) line, keeping the membrane pressurized and controlling the recovery ratio of the system. The flow restrictor must be properly sized according to the flow of the RO membrane system.

How does RO auto shut off valve work?

Automatically turn your home RO system on and off according to the tank level. These diaphragm valves work in conjunction with a pre-pressurized tanks (sold separately) to automatically turn the RO system off when the tank is full, then back on when the tank level drops below a certain pre-set point.

What is a permeate pump?

What is a permeate pump? A permeate pump is applied reverse osmosis (RO) system to save water sent to the drain and allow the system to operate at its highest efficiency. An RO system with a permeate pump produces a higher quality of water at a great flow rate.

What happens if RO tank pressure is too high?

RO Tank Pressure Imbalance: Most reverse osmosis tanks require a standard pressure of 6-8 pounds per square inch to operate efficiently. If the pressure is too high, water leaving the RO filtration unit won’t enter the storage tank.

How long do RO systems last?

How long do RO systems last? They could last 10-15 years but only when they are regularly maintained. This means the cartridges should be replaced annually and the parts are regularly inspected for any problems. Some parts may wear out (e.g. storage tanks, tubing) through time.

Why is RO water bubbly?

Air readily travels through an RO membrane, so if your water supply has a lot of air, you will see bubbles. They float the top and dissipate after a few seconds. Most people agree that dissolved oxygen makes water taste better.
