What Is Curing Sealant?
Curing is a process under which the applied sealant is toughed or allowed to settle down effectively. The curing process and duration is solely based on which sealant is being applied to the joints. Curing process for some sealants may take few hours whereas for some it may take up to weeks.

What does sealant curing mean?

An adhesive or sealant is said to have reached full cure when the chemical reaction is complete, and the ultimate strength has been reached. For many single component chemistries, this process can take days or weeks to complete. Depending on the application, the time to full cure may be more or less important.

Does sealant need to cure?

The answer: most silicone-based sealants will be dry to the touch within thirty minutes to an hour. But this does not mean that the seal is ready! Before being exposed to moisture, silicone must cure. And even though many people use the terms cure and dry interchangeably, there is a world of difference between the two.
