Cyclone condensate separators use centrifugal motion to force condensate out of compressed air. The spinning causes the condensate to join together on the centrifugal separators walls. Condensate is removed out of the system by the condensate drain.
What does a condensate separator do?
Gas-Glycol-Condensate Separator The heat provided by the glycol-glycol preheater helps in the separation of hydrocarbons from the wet glycol. The hydrocarbon condensate is separated from the glycol by a three-phase gas-glycol-condensate separator (Figure 2-19).
How does a air water separator work?
A centrifugal separator (Figure 1) causes a rotary motion in the air, forcing particles to accelerate in a radial outward movement. Once they reach the outside, they drain into the bowl. These are effective for removing water droplets, as well as dust and dirt particles larger than 5 microns in size.
