What Colour Are Jonquils

Jonquil is a hue of yellow. It is the color of the interior of the central cylindrical tubular projection of the jonquil flower. The color takes its name from a species of plant, Narcissus jonquilla, which has clusters of small fragrant yellow flowers, and is native to the Mediterranean.

What colors do jonquils come in?

In flower shape and hue, they are very similar to daffodil bulbs and most gardeners simply don’t differentiate. The length of the corolla is smaller in jonquils than daffodils. Additionally, jonquils only grow in yellow hues while daffodils may be found in white, peach, pink and a variety of other colors.

What is the difference between jonquils daffodils and buttercups?

Jonquils are usually smaller than other daffodils and grow only 12 to 16 inches high. Buttercups are extravagant, exotic plants with round, tightly formed flowers with multiple petals. Buttercups come in vivid colors, such as pink, red, coral and yellow, and are known for the delicate texture of the petals.
