One of the simplest floor care tools, a dust mop is a long-handled mop that is used to remove dust and small particles of debris from floors and hard-to-reach places like ceilings and walls. Also known as a dry mop, a dust mop is meant to be used dry, never wet.
What do you do with a dust mop before using it?
Move any and all obstacles in the area that may be in your sweeping path. Remove all larger pieces of debris that the dust mop will not able to sweep away and throw them into a trash container.
How do you treat dust mops?
- Spray dust mop until moist, never wet. Do not spray at the very ends.
- Shake or vacuum the dust mop vigorously to release dust.
- Renew by spraying lightly in center of mop.
- When mop head becomes excessively soiled, remove and wash in soapy solution, rinse and dry.
