Are Dust Mites Harmful

House dust mites are microscopic bugs that primarily live on the dead skin cells that humans and their pets shed. The mites are mostly harmless to people and do not carry diseases, but they and their faeces can cause allergic reactions to humans, especially among asthmatics.

How do you know if you have dust mites?

  1. Sneezing.
  2. Runny nose.
  3. Itchy, red or watery eyes.
  4. Nasal congestion.
  5. Itchy nose, roof of mouth or throat.
  6. Postnasal drip.
  7. Cough.
  8. Facial pressure and pain.

Do I need to worry about dust mites?

It is important to note that if no one in your home has an allergic reaction from dust mites there is nothing to worry about from their presence. They are microscopic and harmless unless allergic.
