Is Span a Semantic Element

Is Span a Semantic Element

So, in web design, a semantic element is an element that has intrinsic meaning, and conveys that meaning to both the browser and the developer. For example,
and are non-semantic elements.

What are the semantic elements?

Semantic HTML elements are those that clearly describe their meaning in a human- and machine-readable way. Elements such as
,
and
are all considered semantic because they accurately describe the purpose of the element and the type of content that is inside them.

Are divs and spans semantic?

In themselves, they have no meaning. You don’t have “Some other text” on a new line. If you replaced the spans with
(a block element), there would be newlines.
