A PT or PTA is required to have a license in the home state and meet other eligibility criteria such as having no disciplinary action against the license for at least two years.
How does the PT compact work?
The Physical Therapy Compact is an agreement between member states to improve access to physical therapy services for the public by increasing the mobility of eligible physical therapy providers to work in multiple states.
How long does it take to get PT Compact license?
These privileges are issued by the PTCC to eligible PTs and PTAs in participating states who apply through PT Compact. The process is simpler than getting a traditional state licensure and can take as little as ten minutes to register on their website.
