Gardeners who grow potatoes in the ground or in raised beds may find themselves facing damage from mice and voles from time to time. These two little critters love to burrow through garden soil in search of potato tubers.
Do potatoes keep mice away?
Mashed potatoes. Sprinkle them wherever you’ve seen a mouse. They’ll eat them, their stomachs will expand and it will kill them.
Do mice eat potatoes in the ground?
Mice will go for stored potatoes and, if they are near to the surface they may well chew growing ones. Had you considered that it might be slug damage? Unusual if the potatoes are underground growing.
