When Do You Use Bactigras

Bactigras is used as a wound dressing for the prevention of infection in minor skin loss injuries and ulcerative wounds. It is not recommended for the treatment of existing wound infection unless used as an adjunct to systemic antibiotic therapy where appropriate.

How often should I change Bactigras?

The frequency of changing the Bactigras dressing will depend on the clinical circumstances and this can vary from more than once a day to twice per week. S&S of local wound infection are resolved within 2 weeks. If used prophylactically, a wound infection does not occur.

When would you use a wound dressing?

Collagen dressings can be used for chronic wounds or stalled wounds, pressure sores, transplant sites, surgical wounds, ulcers, burns, or injuries with a large surface area. These dressings act as a scaffolding for new cells to grow and can be highly effective when it comes to healing.
