A Well-X-Trol well-water tank uses a pressurized butyl diaphragm to maintain water pressure. The diaphragm isolates the tank’s water storage area from the pressurized air. As water from a well pump fills the Well-X-Trol, the diaphragm stretches and the air above the diaphragm compresses.
How often should well pressure tank cycle?
Normal well pump operation with a pressure tank will give a water volume draw-down cycle of 30 seconds to 1-2 minutes for a typical water pressure tank, or much longer if larger water pressure tanks or water storage tanks are installed.
How do I know if my well pressure tank is bad?
- Fluctuations in water pressure throughout the home.
- Strange noises or rapid clicking sounds coming from the tank.
- Spitting faucets.
- Scalding shower water.
- High electric bills.
