BLS stands for Basic Life Support. BLS certification may refer to two things: Training that includes Healthcare Provider level skills such as 2-person CPR, pulse checks, bag valve mask use, and rescue breathing without compressions for people that have a pulse.
Do I need to prepare for BLS class?
To truly prepare for any BLS course, you need to know the material and what to expect stylistically – and the best way to do so is by taking a BLS Practice exam. The following are only practice questions and answers; therefore they will not be seen on either our BLS Certification or BLS Recertification exams.
What are BLS skills?
- Recognizing Medical Emergencies.
- Accessing the Appropriate Emergency Resources.
- Proving CPR (including 1 and 2-rescurer scenarios)
- Providing Ventilations with a Bag-Valve Mask device (BVM)
- Relief of a Foreign-Body Airway Obstruction (Choking)
- Use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED)
