Can you opt your child out of standardized testing?

Yes. California Education Code section 60615 allows a parent or guardian to submit a written request to school officials to exclude his or her child from any or all parts of state-mandated assessments.

Can you opt out of AzMERIT 2021?

Parents will not be able to opt their children out of statewide standardized tests like AzMERIT. Arizona does this testing to ensure students are making satisfactory progress and to allow comparison among students at different schools.
