What Is a Balancing Loop

What Is a Balancing Loop

A balancing loop is the cycle in which the effect of a variation in any variable propagates through the loop and returns to the variable a deviation opposite to the initial one (i.e. if a variable increases in a balancing loop the effect through the cycle will return a decrease to the same variable and vice versa).

What is balancing loop example?

Example. The thermostat is a very practical example of a balancing feedback loop. It monitors the temperature in a room (the actual level) and when it goes below or above a certain threshold (the desired level), it will start to heat or cool the room to keep the temperature within the thresholds.

What do balancing feedback loops do?

Balancing feedback loops, or negative feedback loops, are circles of cause and effect that counter a change with a push in the opposite direction. The harder the push, the harder the system pushes back.
