Does Cashmere Get Fuzzy

Does Cashmere Get Fuzzy

New cashmere sweaters tend to get a layer of fuzz balls during the first wear or before their first wash. We recommend simply skimming the area with a razor, against the grain of the fabric, to remove any unsightly fuzz.

Is cashmere supposed to be fuzzy?

It has the appearance of fuzziness. Fine cashmere can have a fuzzy surface that gives it a sort of aurora, if this is the desired effect. The yarn is less twisted during spinning. However, more tightly twisted cashmere yarn isn’t as fuzzy, and isn’t intended to have that aurora effect.

How can you tell if cashmere is bad?

The Look Test: What does Your Cashmere Item Look Like Pick up the cashmere item, holding it at eye level, and stare across the fabric’s surface. You should see about 1-2mm of fluff or fibers. Longer fibers mean less pilling. If there is more fluff than 2mm worth, then you should be suspicious.
