While it’s quite common for them to return each year to the same territory, it’s rare that they will use the same nest itself. They often take parts of old nest to build a new one, so you may see them at the old nest site.

The birds don’t reuse an old nest, but they certainly will recycle one. Once again the birds are smarter than we are. In addition to being good nest builders, orioles are excellent parents. Unlike many songbirds that are victimized by the parasitic cowbirds, the orioles will have none of it.
