Rock wool insulation originates from a volcanic rock that is melted at a temperature around 1,600 °C. Afterwards, it is spun into a package of wool. The rock wool insulation is bound together by means of resins and oils, which give the material waterproof qualities as well.

Is Rockwool a Biosoluble?

The terms ‘Bio-Soluble’ Glass Wool and Rock Wool means the products dissolve in bodily fluids and is quickly cleared from the lungs. The products comply with the test of short-term biopersistence in Note Q of the National Occupational Health and Safety Commission’s Standard 10005 (1999).
