Preliminary research suggests the glasses do work — but not for everyone, and to varying extents. In a small 2017 study of 10 adults with red-green color blindness, results indicated that EnChroma glasses only led to significant improvement in distinguishing colors for two people.
How much do color blind glasses help?
Color blind (or colorblind) glasses do not cure color blindness or produce 100% normal color vision. But they enhance and partially correct certain color vision deficiencies of colorblind individuals.
Do indoor colorblind glasses work?
EnChroma lenses are not designed to defeat color blindness screening tests. The glasses may not significantly improve scores on the EnChroma Color Blindness Test or any other color blindness test. Results vary depending on the type of test and the extent of color vision deficiency of the individual.
