Can you walk Columbia Icefield?

You can do part of the walk no charge but you won't get right onto the glacier. There is a parking lot at the foot of the glacier and then an interactive trail (national park lingo for informative plaques along the way). The hike is a little steep in one section but short.

Is Columbia Icefield in Banff or Jasper?

Located within the Canadian Rocky Mountains astride the Continental Divide along the border of British Columbia and Alberta, Canada, the ice field lies partly in the northwestern tip of Banff National Park and partly in the southern end of Jasper National Park.
