On and off Bleeding Mid Cycle?

On and off Bleeding Mid Cycle?

The majority of women will at some point experience bleeding in the middle of the menstrual cycle. This is called intermenstrual bleeding, or spotting. As with other variations from normal bleeding, sometimes spotting is not something you need to worry about, and other times it can be a sign of a problem.

Why do I bleed and then stop and start again?

Irregular periods are not always a cause for concern. Periods that stop and the restart are often the result of normal hormone fluctuations during menstruation. A person should see a doctor or gynecologist if these irregularities occur with every period, or if they experience other symptoms.

When should I worry about mid cycle bleeding?

If your spotting has been happening consistently for several months—or you're worried about it for any reason – keep a menstrual diary to track irregular menstrual cycles or bleeding. If the irregularity persists for more than two months, I'd recommend making an appointment to see your ob/gyn for an exam.
