Is the app zoom safe to use?

Despite Zoom's checkered past, it boils down to what you are using the platform for and how you use it. For example, Zoom isn't the place to discuss confidential government, corporate, or patient information. But for social get-togethers and workplace meetings (that stick to routine business), Zoom is safe enough.

Do I need to install Zoom to join a meeting?

You don't need to install any extra software to join or even host a Zoom meeting. You can do it all through a web browser. Click on the meeting invite URL that the host shared via email or text. A new tab will open on your preferred web browser.
