In summary, if you are fishing for suspended fish like crappie or sunfish in waters less than 30 feet of water, the FL8 or FL-12 will do an outstanding job. If you are fishing perch or walleye in deep water and need to see a tiny lure tight to the bottom, then the FL-18 FL-20 or FL-22HDwould be a better choice.
Is the vexilar FLX 28 worth it?
Totally worth every cent. It's way more sensitive and the added features are amazing. It makes me feel like I was fishing blind before and I have always had a vexilar. It's very quiet and the battery lasts a long time.
Whats the difference between FL8 and FL18?
Re: Differences between Vexilar FL8 and FL18
The FL8 is your basic entry model, with very few features, just the meat and potatoes, if you will. I believe the FL18 has a zoom feature that will help you zone in on a certain portion of the water column.
