Axolotls now spawn naturally in underground water sources. Axolotls no longer get a regeneration effect after killing a mob on their own. Axolotls now spawn in any biome and up to Y-63 instead of Y-30.
Where do you find Axolotls in Minecraft?
Minecraft axolotls: where they spawn
- They can only spawn in water and below Y-level 63.
- They can only spawn in perfect darkness (Light Level 0).
- Their spawn location must be within five blocks of a stone-type block, and there must be a solid block above their spawn location.
How do I make my Axolotl spawn?
To spawn Axolotl, you just need to place Cobblestone Blocks under any water blocks. Cobblestone, Stone, Gravel, and Deepslate will all work. Axolotl will only spawn in Level Level 0. Use Cobblestone to cover the water so no light can get in.
