IOTA 1.5 (Chrysalis) and IOTA 2.0 (Coordicide)
In parallel Coordicide is currently developed, to create a distributed network that no longer relies on the coordinator for consensus. A testnet of Coordicide was deployed late 2020, with the aim of releasing a final version in 2021.
Is IOTA fully decentralized?
The final phase of IOTA's development, as mentioned above, is called Coordicide. With this upgrade, IOTA 2.0 will reach full maturity to become a permissionless, feeless, scalable and fully decentralized DLT.
Is IOTA a NFT?
The IOTA (MIOTA) non-fungible token (NFT) marketplace has launched on the IOTA 2.0 DevNet in test mode - it's "almost feeless" and set to be fully decentralized.
