A school assembly is a gathering of all or part of a school for purposes, such as special programs or communicating information basis. In some schools, students gather to perform a common song or prayer, and to receive common announcements.

What do you do in assembly?

More or less, every assembly has a common song or prayer, news headline, student talk, and important announcements of the day. During festivals and special occasions, assemblies are extended as students perform skits, talent shows, educational programmes, singing and dancing shows before the school.

What is the purpose of school assemblies?

They're a coming together of pupils and teachers in one place for a shared purpose. That purpose, the guidance states, is “to provide the opportunity for young people to consider spiritual and moral issues, to develop community spirit and reinforce positive attitudes”.
